GRAPEFRUIT MARGARITAS

APRIL 26, 2020BY ADVENTURESWITHSILV

Quarantine day #458372910 and I have become a wanna be mixologist πŸ™‚

Listen we have to make the best of the times we are in and our side hobby has been drink tasting πŸ™‚

I have always enjoyed a good drink – my choice of drink is something STRONG [Vodka, Gin, Tequila or Mezcal] not too sweet and a good after taste –

  • Vodka Soda water with lime
  • Mezcal soda water
  • Tequila soda water and lime
  • Dirty martini
  • A GOOD MARGARITA

**I told ya I like Strong drinks **

**SIDE NOTE – I unfortunately am not able to drink as much as I could when I was in my 20’s because well Mid 30’s jaja and well I have some health issues; I get very VERY Swollen and get red dots all over my face – currently working with professionals to find out what is going on –

So during the stay-at -home situation I’ve been playing with different mixes for dinks – not only with flavors but also with glasses (because why not, make drinking at home more fun)

My sister brought us some Grapefruit and I thought lets make some yummy margaritas –

**DISCLAMIER**
I may have had a lot of these therefore I think they are delicious πŸ™‚ so I’d be curious to see what you think πŸ™‚

This is what I used:

  • 2 oz – Tequila (I used blanco; the Teremana Tequila)
  • 1 oz – Fresh Grapefruit juice (I’m sure you can use store bought juice)
  • 1 oz – Lemon Juice
  • 1 oz – Simple Syrup
    • How to make Simple Syrup – I had NEVER Made it SUPER EASY
      • 1 cup of water to 1 cup of granulated sugar – boil until dissolved BOOM =Simple Syrup
  • 1 oz Grand Mariner (if you don’t have Grand Mariner its totally okay I made a batch without it and it still tasted delicious)
  • Ice to liking

*add to a shaker/or any cup; mix/or shake and salt rimmed glass*

On a serious note; these times are hard and we are all going through it together – some in different situations than others but nonetheless together – we all are doing our best (in my opinion) so lets do our best with what we have and try to enjoy each moment.

I AM BEYOND GRATEFUL FOR ALL OF THE FIRST RESPONDERS that are working their behinds off during this time – some of my closest friends are nurses and doctors and I know how hard they are working.

CHEERS to them for all of their INCREDIBLE work and their BRAVERY – THANK YOU!!!
